Privacy Policy for PrepCode

PrepCode is an Android app designed to help software developers prepare for coding interviews, including LeetCode-style practice, live-coding preparation, system design preparation, behavioral preparation, and AI-assisted review.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect or process:
- Account information: Google account sign-in information such as user ID, name, email address, and profile photo, provided through Firebase Authentication.
- Interview preparation data: company names, position names, job descriptions, interview phases, notes, conversations, uploaded/captured images, and AI responses created inside the app.
- Camera content: photos or screenshots you choose to capture or upload for practice analysis.
- AI provider settings: selected AI provider, selected model, connection status, and masked API key information such as the last four characters.
- Payment and entitlement data: purchase status, product type, subscription status, access expiry time, and purchase verification metadata handled through Google Play Billing.
- Technical data: app logs, crash information, device/app version, and backend request metadata needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- authenticate users;
- create and manage interview preparation profiles;
- store local and cloud-synced preparation content;
- send user-selected practice content to the selected AI provider for analysis;
- manage AI provider connection status and model selection;
- verify in-app purchases and control access to paid interview features;
- provide customer support, debugging, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, and service reliability.
3. AI Provider API Keys
If you add an API key for OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Grok, NVIDIA, OpenRouter, Groq, Mistral, or another supported provider, the key is sent securely to backend services for encrypted storage. The app does not store the full API key on the device, does not display it after saving, and does not use it directly from the Android client.
API keys are encrypted server-side using Google Cloud security services and are used only to make requests to the selected AI provider on your behalf.
4. Sharing with Third Parties
We may share or process data through the following service providers only as needed to operate the app:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud: authentication, database, cloud functions, encrypted key storage, app integrity, and backend infrastructure.
- Google Play Billing: purchase and subscription processing.
- Selected AI providers: practice prompts, images, extracted text, interview context, and conversation content may be sent to the provider/model you choose for AI analysis.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Local Storage and Cloud Storage
The app may store interview preparation data locally on your device using Android local storage such as Room. Some data may also be synced to Firebase/Google Cloud so it can be restored, processed, or used across sessions.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep data only as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and maintain security.
You may delete interview items, conversations, and connected AI provider keys from inside the app where supported. To request account or data deletion, contact us at:

7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect user data, including Firebase Authentication, backend-only AI provider calls, encrypted API key storage, and server-side purchase verification.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The app is intended for developers and interview preparation users. It is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. International Processing
Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. By using the app, you understand that your information may be transferred and processed outside your country of residence.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date and make the latest version available in the app and on the public privacy policy page.
